Elieth Sardinas “Elly” loves to illustrate and create, imagining characters and stories out of simple things. She believes that imagination and creativity are important tools in everyday life; it makes us happier and open to learning, understanding and exploring the world around us.


She has illustrated seven books, ‘Our Pets’ (Nuestras Mascotas), a Spanish children’s book in Colombia, (2012), ‘Makan Time!’ (2013), an English/Malay picture book written by Sharon Ismail and Rilla Melati Bahri, under the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism and "The Snail Who Didn't Want His Shell" a Tamil/ English picture book under the same fund, to name a few.


Elly is an industrial designer by profession. In 2011, one of her products ‘Free like a deer’ made it into the top 100 of design of the year by Axxis Magazine in Colombia.


‘Dear Mister Cat’ is her first self-published book as writer and illustrator.


She has experience teaching arts, has worked as a cultural manager, programming, curating and developing cultural events at venues like National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore National Gallery, Yong Siew Toh, among other venues where she had the opportunity to work in a variety of projects like Film Festivals, music performances, talks, photography exhibitions and many others. 


She Loves traveling and currently lives in Singapore.
